It’s Sarah Palin Sunday. Vol. 2
Presenting Palin. A good grape gone bad.
2007 Cabernet Sauvignon | Organic Grape | Chile.
This distinctive 2007 vintage hails from the windswept reaches of distant lands offering a diverse bouquet. At the outset it appears enchanting, but this masquerade is abruptly exposed by an agitating aftertaste. One’s palate is steamrolled by an incompetent amalgamation of nuts, fruits and overwhelming smokiness. Its full body presentation, while at first alluring, ultimately disappoints, stupefying those who desire a more substantive finish.
Sharp on the tongue, it is best paired with a lightly roasted yearling lamb.
If there is no suitable available alternative, we strongly advise one decant the wine allowing an extended time to breathe.
While the Palin is presented at a reasonable price, we can only recommend it as a purchase and hold. It’s paradoxical disposition would be better suited as a blend with more mature and seasoned grapes. Without doubt it will be best served after mellowing in an obscure cellar for the next 20-30 years.
