Spanning the Divide VIII.
Prior to undergoing major surgery every patient was documented. Forty four year-old, Castillo Jasilito came to the mission with a large mass on his left jaw, as shown here by Dr. Carlo Jurani in the O.R. immediately following the surgery.
The operation took place the last day of the mission and the team was without an anesthesiologist. Mr. Jasilito agreed to have the mass removed with a local anesthetic to numb the area.
Mr. Jasilito is examined by Dr. Jurani later the same day in the men’s ward. He thanked the doctors many times for his surgery. He was released from the hospital that afternoon.
