If you’re a runner, the high school track season is too short and a bit early in the year for optimal running weather. Still, it’s great fun. Sam’s chosen event is the 3200 meter run. Last year, as a freshman, his p.r. was 10:44. Last Tuesday he ran 10.21 and on Friday night at the Seaman Relays in Topeka, he dropped down to 10:05.97. There are just a few meets left this season. It’ll be fun to watch and see if he can eclipse the 10 minute mark.
